A per-day AI budget is what lets sorting stay free without an open-ended bill. When the cap is reached Klorn stops spending rather than overspending, and says so. It is a stated limit, not a surprise.
You can point Klorn at your own model key instead of ours, or run a local model, on any tier. Self-hosters run the same classifier with the same enforcement — there is no second-class self-host path.
